Corvalen® D-Ribose 3-week study.
A new, multicenter study verified that Corvalen D-ribose is an effective treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Fibromyalgia (FMS). 53 health practitioners enrolled 257 patients who had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and/or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. They were given D-ribose, a naturally occurring pentose carbohydrate, at a dose of 5-g TID for 3 weeks. All patients were assessed at baseline (one week before treatment was begun) and after 1, 2, & 3 weeks of treatment using a Visual Analog Scale (of 1-7 points) rating energy, sleep, cognitive function, pain and overall well-being. Improvement in the first week. 203 patients completed the 3 week treatment trial. The results showed statistically significant improvement in all 5 parameters after 3 weeks of D-ribose treatment (p < .0001). New hope for new treatment. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia have been historically difficult to define and notoriously difficult to treat. Only recently has this condition been given the attention it deserves. The findings of this study give hope that soon, D-ribose will become part of an efficacious, well-accepted course of treatment. by: MyHealth-Store |
